This five storey, city centre building which overlooks Portsmouth’s Guildhall Square was purchased by JCL from the University of Portsmouth in 2011 and became the company’s first HMO building project.
Originally used by the university as offices, JCL converted the ground floor into a retail pharmacy with access from the pedestrianised square at the front and meeting and training rooms at the back. Renovation of the basement created office and storage rooms, while the four storeys above the ground floor were transformed into student halls of residence housing 25 individual units.
The entire project was completed in six months.
